The NewsVexa Copyright Policy explains how original content, photographs, videos, graphics, reader submissions and third-party material should be handled on NewsVexa.
NewsVexa respects intellectual property rights and expects contributors and users to do the same.
1. NewsVexa Original Content
Unless otherwise stated, original articles, graphics, branding and other original material created for NewsVexa may be protected by applicable copyright and intellectual property laws.
Third parties should not copy complete NewsVexa articles or republish substantial portions as their own without permission or another lawful basis.
2. Sharing NewsVexa Articles
Readers are welcome to share links to NewsVexa articles through websites, messaging services and social platforms.
Where legally permitted, limited quotations may be used with appropriate attribution and a reference to the original NewsVexa article.
Sharing a link is different from copying and republishing an entire article.
3. News, Facts and Copyright
NewsVexa recognizes an important distinction between facts and the original expression used to report those facts.
The underlying facts of a news event are not the same as copying another publisher’s original article, photographs, graphics or other protected material.
Our contributors should conduct their own reporting and write content in their own words rather than copying another publication.
4. Photographs and Videos
NewsVexa may publish photographs or videos that are:
- Created by NewsVexa
- Submitted by contributors
- Provided with appropriate permission
- Properly licensed
- Used from appropriate official/public sources where lawful
- Otherwise used where permitted by applicable law
Where attribution is required, appropriate source or credit information should be provided.
5. User-Submitted Content
Readers may submit photographs, videos, documents, opinions or other materials through NewsVexa.
By submitting material, the contributor should have the necessary rights, permission or lawful basis to provide it.
Do not submit another person’s copyrighted work and falsely claim that you created it.
6. Permission to Use Submitted Material
When a user voluntarily submits content specifically for consideration for publication, NewsVexa may need permission to review, edit, format and publish accepted material on its website and related NewsVexa channels.
The contributor should retain ownership of their original material unless a separate written agreement states otherwise.
A more specific licence/permission statement should also appear directly on the Submit Your Story form so contributors understand what permission they are granting before submission.
7. Third-Party Content
NewsVexa may sometimes reference external articles, documents, research, official statements, social-media posts or other third-party materials.
Where appropriate, NewsVexa should identify or link to the original source.
Attribution alone does not necessarily create permission to reproduce copyrighted material, so substantial third-party content should not be copied merely because its source has been credited.
8. Social Media Content
Content being publicly visible on a social-media platform does not automatically mean it is free from copyright or privacy considerations.
When social-media material is relevant to a story, NewsVexa should consider its source, authenticity, context and appropriate method of use.
9. AI-Generated or AI-Assisted Material
Where NewsVexa uses artificial-intelligence tools in its workflow, reasonable care should be taken to avoid presenting third-party copyrighted material as original NewsVexa work.
AI assistance does not remove the need for editorial review, source verification or appropriate rights considerations.
10. Copyright Complaints
If you believe content available on NewsVexa infringes copyright that you own or are authorized to represent, please contact us.
A useful copyright complaint should include:
- Your name and contact information
- Identification of the copyrighted work
- URL of the NewsVexa material in question
- Explanation of the alleged infringement
- Evidence of ownership or authority where appropriate
- Any other information necessary to evaluate the request
NewsVexa may review credible complaints and take appropriate action where warranted.
11. False Copyright Claims
Please do not submit knowingly false or misleading copyright complaints merely to suppress legitimate reporting, criticism or other lawful material.
NewsVexa may request additional information before acting on a complaint.
12. Removal, Replacement or Attribution
Depending on the circumstances, a valid copyright concern may result in actions such as:
Adding or correcting attribution → Replacing material → Restricting material → Removing material
The appropriate response will depend on the specific facts and applicable requirements.
13. Republishing and Commercial Use
Organizations interested in republishing substantial NewsVexa original content or using it commercially should contact NewsVexa before doing so unless their proposed use is otherwise permitted by law.
Permission, where granted, may be subject to specific conditions.
14. Our Principle
NewsVexa wants information to circulate while also respecting the people who create original journalism, photographs, videos and other work.
Our goal is:
Share information responsibly. Credit sources appropriately. Respect original work.
